Happy Halloween

I’m feeling swamped today but decided to write a short blog anyway. I arrived home 36 hours ago from six days of travel, I visited my brothers and their families in Dallas, Texas area. It’s been five years since I was last there and the highways were definitely more crowded than previously. This validated to me that all those headlines about the big migration to Texas could be true.

It was great to see their grandchildren and renew ties with the family. I’ve seen them in the interim since they’ve all made trips to Pennsylvania to visit Mom when she was sick…

I’ve excepted a position as a book reviewer with Writer’s Advice magazine. My first review is due December first. I read the manuscript while traveling and have it almost ready. I felt honored to be chosen.

I re-read Joyce Carol Oates’ 1997 novel, We Were The Mulvaney’s, it was even better than the first time I read it. Such a powerful story! Even if you read it back then, reading it again would not be a waste of time.

We saw two movies Captain Phillips and Gravity.  I highly recommend both of these intense and well done movies.

Till next time…Happy Halloween and keep reading.

Ann
