Life is Good

Two blog entries in one month…not bad for me! I’ve finished the final draft of my thesis, which is my next book. I’ll soon be formatting it to send to the program director, who will match it with an outside reader. My mentor informed me to be prepared since this would probably be only my first final draft. My Masters in Creative Writing is only a few weeks away. Woo Hoo!

I’ve read two more good novels, Francine River’s Her Mother’s Hope, and Sue Monk Kidd’s The Invention of Wing’s.We’ve become hooked on a couple great television shows on Sunday nights….Call the Midwives and Mr. Selfridges. Of course we are only biding our time for the next season of Downton Abbey! All of our faovrites seem to be on Public televison.

Last night we saw a weird movie, Her. Can’t really recommend it to anyone other than it was thought provoking and well acted.

During their spring break we were lucky grandparents to host our twelve and fifteen year old granddaughters; while their mother and older sister went on a mission trip to Haiti with a group from their church–they said it was life changing experience. Their dad visited often after work. We loved our time with the girls and had such a great time. They washed all our windows inside and out, did crafts and sewed gifts for their friends and cousins. The days flew by and I hated to send them home again, yet we were happy to have spent time with those well adjusted and sweet girls. Life goes on.

Tonight I’m hosting book club so it’s been a busy day of preparations.
Till next time, keep reading my friends.
Ann
