Rain, rain and more rain describes our area of Northwestern Pennsylvania this past few weeks. Everything is beautifully lush and green. But this year instead of watering the flowers, I wheel the pots under cover so their roots don’t rot from the excessive rainfall. The last four days have been sunny and gorgeous with warm summer weather. We are truly ready for this sunshine.

Focused Writing Time is on page 9 of the July/August 2015 issue, I wrote it several months ago after a frustrating few weeks of almost nonproductive writing. Click www.workingwriter1.com Todd McClimans’s second novel in his American Epoch’s series was released last month by Northampton Press. I will write a review this week but I wanted to share this exciting news with anyone who likes historical fiction with a twist of sci-fi. It is targeted toward middle grade school students. but I loved it and I am way past middle school.Click this link to hear a short synopsis: https://soundcloud.com/hollywoodbooktrailers/time-underground-by-todd-mcclimans-1
I attended one day of the Wilkes U. Writing Residency in June. It was the only time I could manage to be away. This year marked the tenth anniversary of the Low Residency Writing Program. It was a wonderful to re-connect with so many writer friends and faculty, as well as make new friends who understand and share a passion for the written word.
The drive seems shorter the more often I drive across the state, it is about 4.5 hours from home to Wilkes University, of course, listening to an exciting, though easily forgettable, audio book helped.
Till next time…keep reading my friends!
